Clare J Liddon, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Hello, my name is Dr. Clare J. Liddon, and I am a behavior analyst at UF Health. I am continuously inspired by the hope found in behavior analysis, which shows that positive change is always possible when someone is given the right way to learn and a safe space to do so.

As a provider, my goal is to help patients access the care they need through our programs while considering any challenges they may face after leaving the hospital. By understanding their personal circumstances, I can recommend behavioral interventions that quickly support our patients and enable them to access the medical care they require. The safety and comfort of my patients are my top priorities, and I strive to match my recommendations with interventions that are effective and aligned with patient preferences.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Central Florida, followed by a master’s and doctorate in applied behavior analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology. I completed postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a fellow in the Inpatient Neurobehavioral Unit at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. I am a board-certified behavior analyst–doctoral and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, at the University of Florida.

My clinical and research activities focus on the applications of behavior analysis, including the assessment and treatment of severe behavior, community consultation, early intensive behavior intervention for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and the supervision and training of pre-service professionals in these areas. Using a scientist-practitioner model, my work emphasizes mentorship of professionals in evidence-based clinical service delivery and applied research.

Outside of work, I enjoy baking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
