Doctoral Internship Program Program Overview
Goal: The primary goal of the internship program is to prepare doctoral interns to function as postdoctoral fellows or early career psychologists in health service psychology working with a range of populations and in a range of settings with a focus on professional, ethical, interdisciplinary, and evidence-based care.
Objectives
In line with the Standard of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology, our program is an organized training program that aims to train doctoral interns to demonstrate competency in the following areas:
- Research
- Ethical and legal standards
- Professional values, attitudes and behaviors
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Assessment
- Intervention
- Supervision
- Consultation and interprofessional/interdisciplinary skills
Accreditation Status
The doctoral internship program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC; member number 2651) and participates in the APPIC match process.
The program has received notification of approval for an accreditation site visit by the American Psychological Association (APA) in Fall 2026. Please be advised that there is no assurance that the program will be able to successfully achieve APA accreditation.
