The successful candidate will provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership, and will have responsibility and accountability for the clinical performance of all sections within the department.

Clinical Research

Seeking clinical research faculty candidate with clinical and research expertise in depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, autism spectrum disorders, or women’s mental health, including maternal mental health. Board Certified (or Board Eligible) Psychiatrists and/or Ph.D. level psychologists are encouraged to apply. Requires clinical and clinical research experience in adults or children and will be a core part of the growing clinical and translational research program. A history of obtaining successful research funding is critical.

Pediatric Inpatient/Outpatient Psychiatry

A full-time, 12-month, non-tenured multi-mission track faculty position, involving pediatric psychiatry inpatient and outpatient services. Could also include community consults to schools, primary care providers, or services to children in custody. They will provide clinical and teaching needs as well as opportunity for scholarly activity.

A full-time psychiatrist to provide psychiatric outpatient services for the Department of Psychiatry and manage direct patient care, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatments for adults. The candidate is expected to participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call schedule. 

Gainesville

Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The position is a 12 month, full-time, non-tenured track faculty position. This position will provide outpatient and inpatient critical need services in our Addiction Medicine division at the Florida Recovery Center (FRC).  In addition, this position will play a key role in teaching students, residents.

Clinical Addiction Science

A full-time, 12-month, non-tenured or tenured track faculty position with demonstrated potential for cutting-edge clinical research and a strong publication record in the area of addiction science. The position is expected to address research and teaching needs. Clinical duties are not expected to be a component of the position.

Leadership Positions

We are excited to announce new educational leadership positions within the department of psychiatry.  We are seeking applicants for the positions of:

  • Vice Chair of Clinical Operations – As a department leader of Psychiatry, the Psychiatry Executive Vice Chair will have a strong commitment to continuing to advance the field of psychiatry, improve patient care and access, and provide the academic environment for innovative research. The successful candidate will provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership, and will have responsibility and accountability for the clinical performance of all sections within the department.
  • Residency Program Director, Clinical Psychiatrist – This is a full time, tenure or non-tenure position responsible for clinical oversight and administration of the ACGME Residency Program for 44 residents actively participating in the treatment of patients in all psychiatry and sub-specialty areas.
  • Assistant Psychiatry Clerkship Director – will work closely with the Clerkship Director to maintain an innovative and effective learning experience for the third-year psychiatry clerkship rotation. 
  • Consultation Liaison Chief – will lead the quality and administrative tasks for the consultation liaison service at UF Health Shands Hospital. Will serve as an Executive Committee member, advise the chair, interface with other department leaders and supervise staff.
  • Pediatric Inpatient Director – will serve as the liaison between leadership and service line staff to implement service policy, conflict resolution, advocate for service needs and develop protocols.
