Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (66955)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking an academic Psychiatrist to join our expanding program in picturesque north central Florida. We have a team of driven faculty and eager trainees who provide consultation-liaison inpatient psychiatry services to an 1162 bed medical center. The Department is dedicated to integrated and trauma informed care, health equity, excellence in resident and student education, behavioral neuroscience, telehealth, and research excellence.

This consultation-liaison psychiatry faculty position is 1.0 FTE (Full Time) non-tenure track and includes direct patient care, teaching, and supervision predominantly on medical/surgical inpatient floors. The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be an M.D. or D.O. Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with fellowship training and certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry strongly preferred. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Medical License. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated record of clinical excellence as well as scholarly or teaching interest in an academic medical center.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is currently recruiting for a full-time, multi-mission track Assistant/Associate/Professor faculty position in the Adult Psychiatry Division. This position will primarily provide psychiatric inpatient care at our freestanding specialty facility, UF Shands Psychiatric Hospital. In addition this position may also provide outpatient services at our Springhill Adult clinic, with ample opportunities for clinical teaching of residents and medical students. The faculty member will serve an important academic role by contributing to clinical program development, educational initiatives as well as possibly contributing to clinical research programs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated record of clinical excellence, research or teaching interest in an academic medical center. Applicants must have a M.D. degree or equivalent, be Board Certified and/or Board Eligible M.D. in Psychiatry and able to obtain a Florida Medical License.

Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor (68039)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting for a Child Psychiatrist to fill a faculty position in the Child and Adolescent Division. This is a full-time, (1.0 FTE), multi-mission, non-tenure track faculty position. This position will have a critical role on the Pediatric Psychiatry Consult Service, providing consultation to UF Shands Children’s Hospital on a half-time basis. This position will also involve coverage of child/ adolescent inpatient services and provision of outpatient services and community-based for child patients in the Department of Psychiatry. This position will play a key role in teaching students, residents, and scholarship in promoting the missions of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Florida.  Rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Assistant/Associate Professor in Addiction Science (81913)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Clinical Addiction Science. The position is a 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured or tenured track faculty position, based on history of and/or potential for NIH or equivalent external funding.  The position is expected to address research and teaching needs. Clinical duties are not expected to be a component of the position.

The department is seeking a dynamic individual with demonstrated potential for cutting-edge clinical research and a strong publication record in the area of addiction science. The applicant should possess experience in clinical addiction science and specific skills in the study of lifespan trajectories, psychiatric and medical comorbidities, and/or the application of large data sets to inform science, practice, and policy. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and diverse populations. Addiction faculty in the department are engaged in UF and national collaborations that afford rich opportunities for career development. As a faculty member in the College of Medicine, the candidate will also contribute to its education mission by participating in graduate and/or medical education. Finally, the successful candidate must be willing to engage in service at the level of the department, college, and larger profession and demonstrate a strong commitment to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Eligible applicants require a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, with postdoctoral experience (3-5 years) including work in clinical addiction science whether in psychology (cognitive, developmental, clinical), neuroscience, or a related field. Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in the analysis and application of large databases. Documented evidence of productivity based on publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals and scientific presentations are requisite. Successful competition for and/or evidence of a high probability for conduct of an externally funded program of research is also required. Evidence of effective mentoring and collegial interactions with scientific and clinical colleagues will also be important considerations.

Research Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers, labs, and collaborations with other departments.
