Application Procedures

  • Applications are received through the APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI) portal: AAPI | Applicant Login Page Section (liaisoncas.com)
  • No supplemental documents are required beyond the “universal application.”
  • Applications are due on November 1 at 11:59pm EST. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be enrolled in and in good standing in an accredited (e.g., American Psychological Association or Canadian Psychological Association) doctoral program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology.
    • If the doctoral program is in the accreditation process, please discuss this in the application materials and the application may be considered.
  • Have received at least 3 years of closely supervised experiential training in professional psychology.
    • Preference is given for applicants with 400 intervention hours and 100 assessment hours.
  • Be authorized by their doctoral program to apply.
  • Have completed all graduate level coursework by the beginning of the internship program.
  • Successfully complete a background check and additional employment procedures set forth by UF.

Interviews

  • All applications are reviewed using a standard applicant rating form and evaluated for potential goodness of fit with the internship program.
  • Applicants are notified whether they have received an interview by email on or before December 1.
  • Interviews are scheduled on a first come, first served basis in January and occur via teleconference. Interviews will come through emails from the National Matching Service (NMS) program.
  • Each applicant should expect a half-day of interviews.
  • Interviews are conducted using a standard set of interview questions, although interviewers may ask additional interview questions of applicants as appropriate.

Acceptance

  • Two internship positions will be offered each year.
  • The internship program participates in the APPIC Match and follows all relevant policies and procedures.
