About Shixie Jiang
Dr. Jiang graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in biology and received his MD from the University of Central Florida. He completed residency training in psychiatry at the University of South Florida, followed by fellowship training in consultation-liaison psychiatry with a concentration in critical care psychiatry at Stanford University.
Dr. Jiang is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist whose clinical practice focuses on neuropsychiatry and the psychiatric care of medically complex patients. His clinical interests include delirium, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, catatonia, transplant psychiatry, depression in the medically ill, and neuromodulation.
He directs the Delirium Neurorecovery Laboratory at the University of Florida, where his NIH-funded research program integrates portable optical neuroimaging, neurophysiology, and noninvasive neuromodulation to investigate the mechanisms, biomarkers, and treatment of delirium and its long-term cognitive consequences. By combining longitudinal neuroimaging, cognitive phenotyping, and image-guided neuromodulation, his research seeks to advance precision neuropsychiatry through individualized, brain-based approaches to diagnose, prognosticate, monitor, and personalize interventions that improve brain recovery after delirium.
