About Shixie "Max" Jiang

Dr. Jiang graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelorā€™s degree in biology and received his MD from the University of Central Florida. He completed his general psychiatry residency training at the University of South Florida and his fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Stanford University.

His research endeavors focus on the application of optical neuroimaging in neuropsychiatric disorders and neuromodulation techniques. His primary project investigates the application of portable optical neuroimaging in delirium and subsequent post-delirium cognitive impairment and development of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. His clinical interests include critical care psychiatry, delirium, transplant psychiatry, depression in the medically ill, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Dr. Jiang works with the inpatient consultation-liaison psychiatry team at the UF Health Shands Hospital. His predominant area of focus is the intensive care units where he serves as the critical care psychiatry liaison.
