About Srinath Gopinath
Srinath Gopinath, MD is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Before joining UF Health, Dr. Gopinath served as an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at University of Connecticut, in Farmington, CT and adjunct assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Gopinath also serves as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Dr. Gopinath completed his medical degree at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, India. He then completed two residencies in psychiatry first at Osmania Medical Center in Hyderabad, India and the second at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. Following residency, Dr. Gopinath stayed at SUNY Downstate to complete a year as chief resident and then a second year as executive chief resident.
His clinical interests include depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation and deep brain stimulation.
