Gary Geffken, PhD
Associate Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry
Dr. Geffken is the Chief of the Division of Medical Psychology and directs the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) clinic for the UFOCD program. The CBT clinic operates on an outpatient basis, and offer specialty services for patients with treatment refractory Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Dr. Geffken supervises an intensive CBT treatment programs where patients are seen on a daily basis as well as a clinic that conducts weekly and biweekly outpatient CBT for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, and other anxiety related disorders. These programs treat both children and adults. Dr. Geffken has received training in exposure-response prevention therapy (ERP) from the Behavior Therapy Institute of the OC Foundation (OCF). Dr. Geffken also oversees the research activities of the Division of Medical Psychology as well as the behavioral health services for youth with diabetes and the other varied mental and behavioral health services.
