Description

The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting for a Child Psychiatrist to fill a faculty position in the Child and Adolescent Division.  This is a full-time, (1.0 FTE) non-tenure clinical track faculty position.  This position will play an active role in the clinical, educational, and scholarly life of the Department and the College of Medicine. The candidate will be responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient care, including telepsychiatry and consultation/collaborative care to pediatricians and community agencies to patients needing quality care.  This position will also serve an important role in teaching students, residents, and promoting the clinical and educational mission of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Florida.  The Division and Department also offer opportunities and support for scholarly and career development for its faculty.

Qualifications

Applicant must have completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.  Applicant must be Board Certified and/or Board Eligible M.D. and must have or able to obtain a State of Florida Medical License.

Description

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking faculty candidates at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, multi-track mission with strong research programs in areas relevant to substance use and psychiatric disorders. Candidates with clinical/translational research programs are highly desirable. Areas of particular interest are obsessive compulsive, anxiety, and related disorders, neuroimaging, and substance use disorders, particularly research in humans. Documented evidence of productivity based on publications is requisite; current extramural funding is highly desirable. Evidence for mentoring students and productive and collegial interactions with scientific and clinical colleagues will also be important considerations. As a faculty member in the College of Medicine, the candidate will be expected to participate in graduate and medical educational programs.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a M.D. or Ph.D. from an accredited training program with relevant discipline and 2-5 years of post-doctoral experience. A documented record of research funding in desirable as well as a broad range of teaching experience. Development and maintenance of an active extramural funded research program is highly desirable.

The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist for the Adult Psychiatry Division.  This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), multi-mission, non-tenure track faculty position. This position will serve an active role in the clinical, educational, and scholarly life of the Department and the College of Medicine. Duties will include providing consult liaison services, inpatient and outpatient care to patients needing quality care at Shands Psychiatric Hospital and UF Health at Springhill Clinic in Gainesville, FL. Individual will also serve as an important academic faculty as both a teacher and mentor for medical students, interns, training residents, and fellows.

About the Department of Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is one of the largest multifaceted psychiatry programs in the United States centered within a major academic health center. The Department of Psychiatry currently has approximately 70 faculty members, 40 residents and 15 fellows including child and adolescent, forensic and addiction fellowships, with office settings in 10 facilities. Inpatient services have a total of 91 beds available and cover multiple specialties including addiction, adult, geriatric, child and adolescent, adolescent eating disorders and neurostimulation. A wide range of outpatient services are offered in several convenient locations and serve the entire age spectrum from preschool children to seniors. Additionally we provide specialty services in the areas of pain, and weight management that meet patients’ needs and reflect our three central missions: patient care, research and education.
