Job Description: The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist for the Adult Psychiatry Division.  This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), multi-mission, non-tenure track position. This position will serve an active role in the clinical, educational, and scholarly life of the Department and the College of Medicine. Duties will include providing consult serves, inpatient and outpatient care to patients needing quality care at Shands Psychiatric Hospital and UF Health at Springhill Clinic in Gainesville, FL. Individual will also serve as an important academic faculty as both a teacher and mentor for medical students, interns, training residents, and fellows.

Job Description: The University of Florida Department of Psychiatry and Center for OCD, Anxiety and Related Disorders (COARD) are recruiting for a full-time (1.0 FTE) non-tenure or tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with clinical and research expertise in OCD, anxiety, and/or related disorders (e.g., hoarding disorder, tic disorders or body dysmorphic disorder). Frequent interdisciplinary collaborations are a goal of the Center and facilitate joint learning experiences and clinical opportunities. The Center includes faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, interns, graduate students, and undergraduate trainees from a variety of disciplines, colleges, and departments throughout the University of Florida. COARD’s mission is to conduct interdisciplinary clinical and translational research in OCD, anxiety, and related disorders that sets the frame for outstanding evidence-based cross-disciplinary clinical services. Individuals within the program work closely with the Divisions of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Medical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry.

The COARD research program cuts across mental and behavioral health to study causes, pathophysiology, treatment processes and outcomes in evidence-based psychological and psychiatric treatment with children, adults, and their families. The successful candidate will develop his/her own area of externally funded research, in collaboration with established faculty in COARD and throughout UF.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida is recruiting for two faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with clinical and research expertise in major depressive disorder (MDD). Board certified psychiatrists and Ph.D. level psychologists are encouraged to apply. The position requires clinical and research experience with MDD in adults and will be a core part of the growing clinical and translational research program in the Department of Psychiatry at UF.

Frequent interdisciplinary collaborations are a goal of the Department and such collaborations facilitate and expand potential research opportunities. Department faculty have the opportunity to collaborate with clinical and research faculty from a variety of disciplines, colleges, and departments throughout the University of Florida. The successful candidate will develop his/her own area of externally funded research, in collaboration with established faculty in the Department of Psychiatry, the College of Medicine, and throughout UF. The adult inpatient and outpatient services provided by the Department of Psychiatry, which include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), deep brain stimulation (DBS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), partial hospitalization (PHP), a specialized geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit, and an inpatient unit for medically and psychiatrically complex patients, provide an ideal setting for clinical and translational research in MDD.

About the Department of Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is one of the largest multifaceted psychiatry programs in the United States centered within a major academic health center. The Department of Psychiatry currently has approximately 70 faculty members, 40 residents and 15 fellows including child and adolescent, forensic and addiction fellowships, with office settings in 10 facilities. Inpatient services have a total of 91 beds available and cover multiple specialties including addiction, adult, geriatric, child and adolescent, adolescent eating disorders and neurostimulation. A wide range of outpatient services are offered in several convenient locations and serve the entire age spectrum from preschool children to seniors. Additionally we provide specialty services in the areas of pain, and weight management that meet patients’ needs and reflect our three central missions: patient care, research and education.
