Dr. Tarrah Mitchell, Associate Professor in the UF Department of Psychiatry, has been selected for the UF College of Medicine’s Medical Education Research & Scholarship Intensive Course.

This new faculty development course is designed to help junior and mid-career clinical faculty across the UF College of Medicine develop the knowledge and skills needed to design, implement, and publish medical education research and scholarship. The inaugural 2026 cohort includes 15 faculty members from across UF’s Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses.
Through a combination of educational sessions, independent study, and targeted mentorship, participants will develop a medical education research or scholarship capstone project ready for implementation by the end of the course. Participants will also have the opportunity to present their work at the UF College of Medicine Celebration of Research and at a regional or national academic conference, with the ultimate goal of external manuscript publication or grant submission.
Dr. Mitchell currently serves as Training Director for the Department of Psychiatry’s Psychology Doctoral Internship Program. She also provides patient care and supervises and teaches students, interns, and fellows in evidence-based assessment and intervention for youth and families.
