Preston G. Celico, DO, a current psychiatry resident, has been recognized through the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Making Gators Greater program.

This initiative invites medical students to share feedback from their clinical rotations and recognize faculty and residents who foster a supportive, respectful, and positive learning environment.
The program highlights individuals whose mentorship and professionalism make a meaningful impact on students’ educational experiences and help shape a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
One medical student shared the following after spending time with Dr. Celico in the child psychiatry clinic:
“I am considering pursuing psychiatry as a career. Preston was exceptionally kind to me throughout my half day at the child psychiatry clinic. He answered all of my many questions, and we had an incredible conversation about the pros and cons of psychiatry. He encouraged me to pursue psychiatry and was a great role model for me, even if it was only a half day”
Recognition through Making Gators Greater reflects Dr. Celico’s commitment to teaching and his positive influence on medical students during their clinical training.
