2023 APA Annual Meeting Recap

The 2023 APA Annual Meeting was held this May at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, several of our faculty and trainees were in attendance, here are some of the highlights from the meeting.

Awards

Ludmilla De Faria, MD was awarded the Jeanne Spurlock, MD Social Justice Award by the Association of Women Psychiatrists for working toward social justice for others who have been disrespected and mistreated.


SPC Vice Chair Dr. Josepha Cheong, APA President Dr. Rebecca Brendel, SPC Chair Dr. Eric Williams

Josepha Cheong, MD was recognized for her role as the Vice Chairperson of the APA’s Scientific Program Committee (SPC). The SPC evaluates abstract submissions for the Annual Meeting and curates the scientific program.

APA Distinguished Fellows

APA Distinguished Fellows are nationally recognized for their demonstrated skill in administrative, educational and clinical settings. They are also noted for volunteering in mental health and medical activities of social significance and involvement in community activities. Excellence, not mere competence, is the hallmark of an APA Distinguished Fellow.
