Raising Hope at Work returns for the first time since 2019. Have you previously participated in the campaign?
Yes, I have participated in RHW every year since 2016.
Why do you choose to participate?
I really believe in re-investing in the important work that is done here. This is an opportunity for all of us to give back to mission areas and activities that matter to us the most, especially those that rely on donor funding.
This year faculty and staff are able to choose their preferred fund to support. What does having this option mean to you?
This is the most exciting part of RHW for me. I am passionate about several aspects of our mission areas at UF and UF Health. However, the ability to directly benefit mental health causes is what drives my gifts.
In fact, one of the areas my gift supports is the Center for OCD, Anxiety, and Related Disorders. The photo of me being slimed is from our Fear Facers camp, which is put on by the Center.
Why should others participate in this year’s campaign?
Think about what aspects of UF Health are important to you but may not receive the attention that you feel they deserve. There are so many funds, from those that provide educational opportunities for staff or directly support our patients and families, to those that allow for growth and development of a new innovative idea. Consider giving to the areas that you are passionate about—
if you don’t know if such a fund exists, search the website—it probably does!
