UF Health breaks ground on new medical facility

Springhill GroundbreakingOn Monday, May 8th UF Health broke ground for their newest multispecialty medical office facility at UF Health Springhill.

The department of psychiatry is excited to be co-located with primary care clinics from family medicine and internal medicine, an ideal springboard for further collaborative care efforts. The “Springhill Two” building will be located directly behind the existing Springhill facility which houses our adult psychiatry outpatient clinic, and adjacent to UF Health Shands Psychiatric Hospital on 39th Avenue.

The addition and location of this new facility will allow for the department of psychiatry to better serve our patients by bringing all our psychiatric services to one mental health campus. The new state-of-the-art building will house child and adolescent psychiatry, medical psychology, and the Center for OCD, Anxiety and Related Disorders. We are excited that this new building will provide state-of-the-art facilities to access and implement our evidence-based treatments, such as exposure therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

The $36 million, 72,000-square-foot building is slated to be completed in August 2018.
