FPS Spring Meeting & Resident Retreat

This weekend the Florida Psychiatric Society held their Spring Meeting in Orlando at the Wyndham at Bonnet Creek Resort. The meeting was well attended with over 200 registered attendees.

Jacqueline Hobbs, Md, Phd receives the FPS Practitioner of the Year Award

UF Department of Psychiatry Professor Rajiv Tandon, MD presented at the conference on Saturday addressing the topic Psychopharm Antipsychotics.

Associate Professor Jacqueline Hobbs, MD, PhD was awarded the 2017 Florida Psychiatric Society Practitioner of the Year Award. This award is presented to the FPS member who has projected an accurate image of psychiatry through clinical practice. This includes participation in formal education activities, professional groups, patient advocacy groups and other activities that increase awareness of mental illnesses.

The annual resident retreat also took place during the FPS Spring Meeting. This year’s featured speakers were UF Psychiatry Resident Alumni, Jordan Brown, MD and Marc Ettensohn, MD. They spoke on “Life After Residency: Job Search and Loans.” Offering current residents firsthand experiences on both. Several of the residents also took part in the poster sessions.
