Rajiv Tandon, MD has been selected to receive the 2015 NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist Award. This award is given to psychiatrists noteworthy for going the extra mile and who have made substantial contributions to NAMI Affiliate or NAMI State Organization activities. Award winners are recognized for their advocacy for access to care and research funding, community education programs or other NAMI priorities.
Dr. Tandon currently serves as acting President of the NAMI Florida Chapter and is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. He was a member of the DSM-5 Workgroup on Psychiatric Disorders for the American Psychiatric Association and the Centers for Intervention, Development and Applied Research (CIDAR) with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
