Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild donate quilts for child psychiatry inpatient unit

Quilters Guild
Department of Psychiatry Chair Regina Bussing, MD and staff members Priscilla Spence and Daniel Fuentes hold quilts donated by the Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild.

For the third year in a row the Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild has donated quilts and pillow cases for the UF Health Psychiatric Hospital. These beautiful gifts will be distributed to patients on the child and adolescent unit and the geriatric psychiatry unit.

The Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of quilting and related arts for individuals of North Central Florida through education, inspiration and information. They offer workshops and quilters camps to the community and provide donations such as this one throughout the community.  So far this year, the Quilters Day Guild has donated over 200 quilts and 300 plus pillow cases among a variety of other donations such as teddy bears and “Red, White and Blue Quilts” for the Gainesville Fisher House Foundation, a unique private-public partnership offering shelter and support during a medical crisis for America’s military, veterans and their families.

We are very gracious and honored to be the recipient of the Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild’s very generous gift.
